They lost their "little princess". Alexis Brown, a five year old girl, died Thursday after he stuck his head in the door of an elevator installed in the house of his parents in Weymouth, England. "We received an alert to 11:52 a child was trapped in an elevator Emmadale Close, near Weymouth," said a spokesman for the firefighters, quoted by The Guardian. Fire, police and emergency were busy trying to retrieve the child from the trap. "Once the lift has been stabilized, the child could be released through the cutting equipment," the spokesman said. Unfortunately relief that were then able to see the little girl died.
A disabled brother
The tragedy happened in a two-story house with an elevator and a ramp for disabled persons installed outdoors. According to The Telegraph, containing information supplied by a spokesperson for the county of Dorset, this equipment was already in the property before the Brown family lives there. If the ramp was out of service, the little girl would have had the habit of using the elevator to help her disabled brother.
The announcement of the drama quickly attracted a wave of emotion in the vicinity of the family. Flowers and teddy bears were laid before the house. Hundreds of messages of support were also posted on Facebook after the publication of a photo of Alexis by her mother.
